This is an older video that I posted for students, but happy to share with the world. This video is based on my book “Ninja Hacking: Unconventional Penetration Testing Tactics and Techniques” (available at Amazon.com). Coming from a military background, and years of Intelligence training helped flesh out the theory behind this book. Hope you all enjoy the video, and let me know if you have any questions or comments.
There are some really good reference material provided in the book and video that should probably be mandatory reading for anyone interested in performing social engineering, starting with FM22.2-3, better known by it’s mesmerizing title “Human Intelligence Collector Operations.” If you want to jump to the more interesting material in this 384 page tome of light reading, jump to page 8-1 (page 139) and start reading about Approach Techniques and Termination Strategies, which talks about building rapport, how to approach people, work on people’s emotion or greed, and more. Really interesting material, in a scary way.
I know this is cliche, but “The Art of War” by Sun Tzu is a strong influence with regard to social engineering. In my book I go over a lot of references relevant to social engineering, and I still believe it’s a solid read even though everyone tends to point to it – sorry… seems the book is just mandatory reading, folks.
Anyway, hope you enjoy the video and again, let me know if you have any questions or comments. Happy Hacking!!
